Medical Device Sales Representative

Icarus Medical is a rapidly growing high-tech medical device start-up in Charlottesville, VA where we craft 3D-modeled and 3D-printed custom knee and ankle braces that assist and unload joints in a new way.  We are looking for highly motivated, well-spoken, and high energy individuals to introduce our technology that is disrupting the orthopedic bracing industry. 

The Sales Representative role is key to delivering our impactful technology to our patients, attaining aggressive sales goals, and capturing market share as a whole. Who We Are Looking For

We are looking for a motivated Inside Sales Representatives (ISR) and Field Sales Representatives (FSR), who are eager to grow with an impactful company, and share in the high-growth of an early-stage startup. You will apply your social aptitude and specialized training on biomechanics that you will learn at Icarus to cultivate deep customer and clinician relationships. The ISR will be accountable for converting new sales leads, generated through the company website, and you will drive sales and meet monthly sales goals. The FSR will call on surgeons and patients alike, and many territories are available.  Expectations include understanding our customers’ needs and requirements, ensuring a smooth sales experience. The candidate will generate new ways of thinking about customer engagement and work closely with the sales team to develop and support implementation of new and exciting campaign initiatives. A passion for customer service is a must. Connection to Icarus’ mission due to your own injury, or a friend/relative, helps relate to our patients.

You will spend your first 3 to 6 months with Icarus in our offices, located in the beautiful and historic downtown area of Charlottesville, VA. During this time, you will be immersed in the Icarus culture and focused on learning what it takes to become a high performing, expert Sales Rep with us. 

Once you have mastered our product, attained sales goals, and performed in the top percentile of our inside sales team, you will have the opportunity to take on new challenges as a Regional Sales Manager. Our team will work with you to begin building your territory to ensure your success when you make the big move to your Region. What You Will Work On

You will work on developing new sales leads, providing customer education on our product and answering any questions they may have. You'll focus on maintaining current knowledge of products and services as we expand and grow in order to demonstrate the product(s) to the customer, explaining the technology and features that the product(s) has to offer. You will partner closely with the Billing department, assisting customers with navigating the medical billing and insurance claim process.

As a member of the Sales team, you will be responsible for developing sales leads, closing sales and meeting required quotas.

Who You Will Work With

You will be reporting directly to the Inside Sales Manager and interacting closely with Billing and Manufacturing departments.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in business or technical field (preferred) or equivalent combination of education and experience and training is required
  • Cumulative GPA > 3.2, for recent graduates
  • 1 year of relevant sales experience in medical devices (preferred)
  • 1 year of customer relations (preferred)
  • Thrive in an innovative and creative environment
  • Proven ability to work in diverse teams
  • Ability to work independently with little direction
  • Excited to interact with teams and work on group projects

 

Salary

 

$72,000 - $200,000 per year
