Aquaculture Laboratory Technician
The Aquaculture Laboratory Technician will join our research while gaining hands-on experience in various aspects of fish care, live feed production, and microbiological laboratory techniques.
Work closely with our team at the Aquatic Animal Research Facility building, room 001, assisting with general laboratory duties, larval and adult fish care, live feed production, and maintaining lab cleanliness.
Participate in fish sampling, rearing, and feeding activities, ensuring the well-being of the aquatic specimens under study. Gain experience culturing bacteria to assess the fish microbiome. Overall, the technician will have the unique opportunity to contribute to the maintenance and monitoring of burbot (Lota lota) production research projects.
Under the guidance of experienced researchers, the technician will be trained in operating specialized laboratory equipment, including peristaltic pumps, biofilters, laminar flow hoods, and other essential tools used in general aquaculture husbandry studies.
