Overview
The early childhood teacher holds the title of English Specialist, which plays an essential teaching role at an individual campus under the guidance of his/her Campus Principal and the Head of the English Department. The English Specialist is responsible for directly implementing and instructing the Etonkids English Curriculum to his/her assigned classroom and students (ages 0-2.5 or 2.5-6). For all classroom matters, the English Specialist will report directly to his/her Lead Montessori Teacher and develop a team-oriented environment with his/her classroom teaching team.
Location of Work: One of 15 major cities in China
Reporting Line: Campus principal and English Department. The ES will report classroom issues to the lead Montessori teacher.
Working hours: Regular working hours shall be Monday to Friday, 8 hours, with a 1-hour lunchtime (8:00 am to 5:00 pm, each campus may differ).

Duties
- Prepare teaching materials during set prep time as noted by the English Department and create original teaching materials each month to match the existing English curriculum.
- Ensure that all Etonkids English curricula are correctly implemented in the classroom and provide feedback to the R&D Department to help develop them.
- Lead English lessons during scheduled times, provide an immersive English-speaking environment throughout the day, and provide feedback and suggestions to other English Specialists regarding successful teaching methods.
- Communicate and cooperate with Chinese English Teachers to ensure both parties are on the same page regarding lesson plan content.
- Monitor student progress and maintain a portfolio for each student.
- Attend all English Department PD days noted by the English Department Regional Supervisor, campus meetings, and PD days as deemed necessary by the Campus Principal. Additionally, attend all scheduled weekly meetings with the classroom teaching team.
- Identify developmental needs of his/her students and organize ways to meet these needs.
- Complete standardized forms as set by the English Department.
- Assist the Lead Montessori Teacher in reviewing and editing all English materials, parent letters, and Student Reports to ensure no language mistakes are made.
- Visit the Etonkids English Department website on a weekly basis and contribute to discussion groups and blogs.
- Greet students and parents at the door, modeling and practicing English.
- Maintain good relationships with parents and keep them well-informed about their student’s progress.
- Represent Etonkids and participate in campus, school, and community events as needed. (8 times a year as a Volunteer Day).
- Adhere to the appropriate dress code for working with young students, as outlined by the English Department's requirements.
- Help cover classes in case of a colleague’s absence as deemed necessary by the Campus Principal.
- Promote the organization's corporate image and educational activities to all individuals and groups, both internal and external.
Experience
- Proven experience working with young children in an educational setting is preferred.
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and practices is essential.
- Familiarity with standardized testing procedures and literacy education methodologies is advantageous.
- Experience in lesson planning across various subjects, including math, physical education, and special education, is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills to effectively engage with students, parents, and colleagues.
