Superior Water, Light and Power (SWL&P), an ALLETE company, provides electricity, water, and natural gas to customers in Superior, Wisconsin, and adjacent areas. Its offices are in Superior in northwestern Wisconsin across the St. Louis River from Duluth, Minnesota, where ALLETE is headquartered. SWL&P has served this region for more than 130 years and today has 15,000 electric customers, 13,000 natural gas customers and 10,000 water customers. RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide a variety of customer services under close-to-moderate supervision for one or more functional areas
- Must have a working knowledge of the Public Service Commission of Wisconsin regulations and code
- Resolve customer questions, complaints, and requests; sets up new accounts; maintains records on customer accounts, credit risks, and delinquent accounts; including updates to Customer Information System(s)
- Perform a wide variety of credit and collection functions, including coordination for field disconnection and reconnection activities
- Provide usage and service information
- May provide fill-in, overflow, and outage dispatch assistance
- Ensure departmental standards are met, data interfaces are effective and data integrity is not compromised
- Establish and maintain policies and procedures
- Enhance and maintain Company image by supporting and communicating Company decisions, policies, and practices, while protecting confidential Company information and customer privacy
- Foster a positive work environment and culture through actively supporting Company values.
- Additional duties, tasks and project support performed as assigned to meet department needs
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
- One year or more related work experience
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- This position will report regularly in person to Superior, WI
- Must be able to operate a personal computer and appropriate software packages, including Microsoft Office Suite
- Requires excellent interpersonal as well as verbal and written communication skills to establish and maintain productive working relationships
- Requires the ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality
- This position may be subject to assessment of skills, job match and/or aptitude.
BENEFITS:
The expected hourly compensation range for this position is $28.76 - $31.95. Compensation offered to the selected candidate will vary depending on relevant knowledge, skills, training, and experience.
