FALL INTERN – FINANCE
INTERNSHIP SUMMARY
The Fall Intern will assist in the operations and execution of Finance Administration's programs and initiatives including daily cash recording, reconciliations, and journal entries.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Enter daily cash receipts
- Prepare cash journals
- Reconcile bank accounts
- Maintain accurate records
- Support month-end closing
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
A Junior, Senior, or recent Graduate (within the last year), majoring in Environmental Studies, Environmental Science, Nonprofit Management, Public Administration, Horticulture Environmental Design/Sustainable Design, Biology, Ecology or related major preferred; Attention to detail, the ability to multi-task and excellent oral and written communications skills are all essential to this position.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Knowledge of the operation of general office equipment including calculator, computer keyboard, computer word processing or other programs, telephone, telephone console, or copy machine as required
- Knowledge of basic mathematical and accounting procedures
- Skill in operating a computer
- Skill in communicating both orally and in written form
- Skill in researching complex issues and developing recommended actions
- Ability to develop, implement and evaluate new and revised procedures, methods and standards
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise considerable skill in information handling, privacy of records and judgment
- Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
- Experience with Excel (preferred)
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The work is sedentary work and requires speaking and talking.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Incumbent works in a safe and secure work environment that may periodically have unpredicted requirements or demands.

The rate of pay will be paid at $20 per hour.
Interns are classified as non-exempt, temporary employees and may be scheduled to work up to 40 hours per week. While they are paid hourly, they are not eligible for benefits such as health insurance, paid time off, or retirement contributions due to their temporary status.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
- United States citizen or authorized to work in the United States
- Current enrollment in a Georgia college, university, or technical school (or recently graduate within the last year)
- Current grade point average of 3.0 or better
