Administrative Support Assistant III

Summary of Job Duties:

The Administrative Specialist II works with a team to provides administrative support and services to the Department of Health, Human Performance, and Recreation (HHPR). This position provides support services to the HHPR administrative team (e.g., the department head, assistant department head, and Exercise Science Research Center (ESRC) and Center for Public Health and Technology Directors) which includes duties such as managing calendars, setting up meetings, and coordinating recurring monthly and special events. This position also provides faculty support which includes processing paperwork, such as travel claims and paperwork related to personnel. This position also serves as a liaison between HHPR and other parts of campus and being a main point of contact for visitors. This job provides opportunities for continued professional growth.

Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.


Qualifications:

 

Minimum Qualifications:

The formal education equivalent of a high school diploma

At least three years of experience in a specialized or related area applicable to work performed


Preferred Qualifications:

The formal education equivalent of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution of higher education

Experience working in an academic department at a college or university


Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities (KSAs):

Knowledge of record keeping procedures

Knowledge of basic arithmetic

Knowledge of basic grammar

Knowledge of computers and software applications

Ability to conduct research and compile data into report form

Ability to establish and maintain filing systems

Ability to operate standard office equipment

Ability to analyze documents to determine compliance with rules, regulations, and procedures

Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing
